PSL 7, Lahore Qalandars beat Peshawar Zalmi by 29 runs
Karachi In the match of the 7th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) , Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 29 runs. In the 9th match of the event being played at the National Stadium in Karachi , Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and invited Lahore Qalandars to bat. Lahore Qalandars openers gave the team a brilliant start of 94 runs, on the same score Abdullah Shafiq's 41-run innings came to an end at the hands of Usman Qadir.
Fakhr Zaman scored 66 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 6 fours but on the ball of Hussain Talat he caught Ben Cutting. Then David started the visa.
Rashid Khan scored 22 runs with the help of 3 sixes thanks to which Qalandars managed to score 199 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Hafeez played an innings of 37 runs off 19 balls.
For Lahore Qalandars , Salman Irshad took two wickets while Usman Qadir and Hussain Talat took one wicket each. In pursuit of the Lahore Qalandars ' 200-run target, Peshawar Zalmai did not have a good start as Hazratullah Zazai was already out on the second ball of the over without scoring a run. Later Hussain Talat was dismissed for a total score of 62 and Kamran Akmal was also dismissed for 41 on the next ball.
Shoaib Malik also failed and got out on the ball of Rashid Khan on an individual score of 7. Sharfeen Rutherford returned to the pavilion with 21 runs, Ben Cutting was out for 10 runs with a total score of 158. Haider Ali was run out for 49 runs and returned to the pavilion. Zalmai needed 38 runs in the last over to win. The eighth out was Zalmai 's captain Wahab Riaz who left the pavilion without scoring a run. David Visaye walked on the next ball.
Haider Ali (49) and Kamran Akmal (41) of Peshawar Zalmi were the standout batsmen while Zaman Khan of Lahore Qalandars took three wickets, Shaheen Afridi and Visa two wickets each and Rashid Khan one wicket. In Pakistan Super League 7, Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars both won one match each and lost one match. PSL 2022: Six More England Players Reach Karachi
Jason Roy, James Vince, Saqib Mahmood, Chris Jordan, Phil Salt and Harry Book are the players who arrived in Karachi to play the ongoing seventh edition of Pakistan Super League.
KARACHI: In a major development, six more English cricketers arrived in Karachi to take part in the ongoing seventh edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Wednesday.
The English players include James Vince, Jason Roy, Saqib Mahmood, Chris Jordan, Harry Brook and Phil Salt arrived today after the end of the West Indies series.
According to the media reports, James Vince tested negative for COVID-19 and he would join his squad in the practice session today at the Moin Khan academy.
They said that Jason Roy would join Gladiators squad after undergoing three-day isolation.
Chris Jordan who is part of Karachi Kings also reached and will undergo three-day isolation to join the team. The reports said that Phil Salt and Harry Brook of Lahore Qalandars will also join the team after undergoing three-day isolation.
All the said players played against West Indies during their recent series which the Windies won by 3-2.
