Economic cooperation will also create harmony on political issues: Shah Mehmood   Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressing the 48th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PTV Screen Grab)  On the second day of the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, the participants considered the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah and the promotion of unity, economic and trade relations.  The ministerial meeting also reviewed the role of Muslim countries in promoting peace, justice and harmony.   Addressing the concluding session of the OIC, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he was grateful to all the delegations for their participation in the OIC Conference.  He added that more needs to be done to address Islamophobia. Cooperation between Muslim countries in the field of science and technology must be increased. Pakistan will continue to work with OIC member states to enhance cooperation in the Muslim world.    The implementation of the resolutions passed at the conference will be ensured. There is a need to promote unity among OIC member states. Pakistan will soon share a paper to promote peace. We have to deal with the problems facing the Muslims of Kashmir, Palestine and Myanmar.  The Foreign Minister said that the role of OIC as the second largest international organization would have to be enhanced and cooperation between the two countries was crucial for this.  He said that the organization has to expand its scope for peace and security and for this Pakistan would play its positive role.  He said that the 18th Trade Fair would also be held this year to further enhance trade and economic cooperation, which would eventually lead to harmonization in political issues as well.  He hoped that Pakistan would continue to take concrete steps for the decisions to be taken from the platform of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.  He further said that a declaration has been issued on Kashmir and an action plan has also been drawn up under which the member countries would meet regularly and monitor the situation in Kashmir. '  The Foreign Minister said that despite the resolutions, the Kashmir issue is still unresolved.  "For the first time, the Chinese foreign minister attended an OIC meeting, with a total of 46 ministerial delegations and 800 delegates attending," he said.  Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that China wants to invest in OIC countries which is close to 400 400 billion.   Referring to the war between Russia and Ukraine, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that China, along with the OIC, had expressed its desire to play a mediating role in ending the ongoing war in Europe.  The Pakistani Foreign Minister said that he was going to visit Beijing in the next few days at the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister.  Replying to a question, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he briefed the US delegation in detail about China's participation in the OIC Summit and Pakistan's position on Ukraine.  He added that the OIC member states would meet from time to time to discuss the situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir and the human rights violations there, as well as to take them to the world. ۔  According to Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the OIC liaison group also recommended the appointment of a special representative of the organization for Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir and the formation of a human rights commission.  Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the extraordinary meeting of OIC foreign ministers on Afghanistan in December last year had eased sanctions on the war-torn country.  The OIC Council of Foreign Ministers passed 140 resolutions on Kashmir, Palestine, Islamophobia, corruption, money laundering, Ukraine-Russia war and many more.  The meeting also passed a resolution congratulating Pakistan on the 75th anniversary of the resolution.  OIC Secretary General Hussain Ibrahim Taha told a news briefing that the OIC was ready to work with the United States to tackle Islamophobia.  "We have made it clear that the right to vote is the right of Kashmiris."  According to him, a special envoy has been appointed for Afghanistan. One million dollars has been received from Nigeria for the Afghan fund.
