Britain sets record for football-related arrests  British authorities announced in a report today, Thursday, that they made 2,198 football-related arrests in the 2021-2022 season in England and Wales, the highest toll since the 2013-2014 season.  Last season witnessed the return of the fans to the full capacity of the stadiums in all matches for the first time since the outbreak of the Corona virus.  The arrests witnessed last season were 59% more than the 2018-2019 season, which preceded the outbreak of the virus.  The most common violations among arrests last season were disturbing public order (36%) and rioting with violence (20%).  The number of matches with reported incidents last season increased by 60% compared to the 2018-2019 season.  And the Premier League announced on Wednesday that any hostile or criminal act by fans in stadiums means an immediate suspension of at least one year.
