The BSR Network released a Human Rights Due Diligence Report on the Meta Monuments in Israel and Palestine during the May 2021 flashpoint, which confirmed the claims that digital rights organizations have been making for years.  The report provides evidence of Meta's bias against Palestinian content through its excessive censorship and management of Arabic content compared to Hebrew content, as the company does not exercise the required censorship over content published in Hebrew.  The report refers to the negative effects on human rights and the right of Palestinians to freedom of opinion and expression, and their right to assembly, organization, political participation and non-discrimination.  The report recommended a number of recommendations, including reassessing content management policies, providing and taking substantial measures to increase transparency around content management practices and policies, investing in more accurate resources to oversee content in Hebrew and Arabic, in addition to the need to continue creating mechanisms to better guide potentially infringing Arabic content according to dialect. and the region, and to provide greater clarity about their legal obligations in relation to dangerous organizations and individuals.  The campaign comes according to "Campaign" in order to pressure the company to implement the recommendations of the report within a clear and announced timetable, and also called for full transparency regarding the requests submitted by both the Israeli government and the Israeli cyber unit, including Meta (Facebook)'s response to these requests. and provide greater clarity about their legal obligations in relation to dangerous organizations and individuals.
