The stadium, which hosts the matches of the New York Giants and New York Jets teams in the American Football League (NFL), was competing for the honor of hosting the final with AT&T Stadium in Dallas and Inglewood in California.

The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup finals will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with the participation of 48 teams for the first time instead of 32.

The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee announced the imposition of several sanctions on the Saudi Al-Safa Football Club, which plays in the Yellow League for the first division.
The committee indicated that the reason for imposing the penalties was the fans of Al-Safa Club chanting phrases and chants in violation of the provisions of the disciplinary and ethics regulations in its match against Al-Bukayriyah.

The committee imposed a fine on Al-Safa Club amounting to 200,000 riyals in favor of the Saudi Al-Ittihad, in addition to banning fans from attending during the next five matches, with a complete closure of the stadium.

Al-Safa and Al-Bukayriyah match:

First: It was proven that Al-Safa Club fans violated Article (72-3) of the Discipline and Ethics Regulations.

Second: Obliging Al-Safa Club to pay a fine of (200,000) two hundred thousand riyals to the account of the Saudi Football Federation.

Third: Obliging Al-Safa Club to play the first five upcoming matches at home without the presence of the public in the Yellow League First Division competition, with the entire stadium closed in accordance with Article (23) of the Discipline and Ethics Regulations.

Fourth: A decision subject to appeal in accordance with Article (144) of the Discipline and Ethics Regulations.

The Saudi Ministry of Sports had announced the dissolution of the board of directors of the Al-Safa Club in the Eastern Province, referring its members to the relevant authorities, and depriving violators of membership in the club or any other clubs.

The Ministry said in a statement: “In reference to the violations committed by the Al-Safa Club Fans Association in violation of Article (1/8) of the basic regulations for sports clubs, which stipulates (adherence to the rules and regulations in force in the Kingdom).”
