German newspaper: Berlin intends to sign a security agreement with Kiev during the upcoming Munich conference in the middle of this month

The German newspaper "Vaz" reported on Saturday that Berlin and Kiev may conclude a joint agreement on bilateral security guarantees during the Munich Security Conference scheduled to be held on February 16.

The newspaper added, citing German government circles, that the bilateral agreement is supposed to be signed on February 16th.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olga Stefanyshina, told the newspaper that the draft agreement is under preparation and its text has not yet been fully agreed upon, but it is “largely ready.”

Last January, Britain signed a 10-year security cooperation agreement with Ukraine , under which Britain pledged to support Ukraine militarily, and French President Emmanuel Macron also announced his intention to sign a similar agreement with Kiev.

For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry considered the NATO countries' supply of weapons to Ukraine as "playing with fire" and incitement that fuels the crisis , undermines the chances of peace, and may lead to the outbreak of a nuclear war.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also warned Western countries against supplying weapons to Ukraine, and vowed to crush it on Ukrainian territory.
