After the martyrdom of his sons and grandchildren,Haniyeh: Their blood is not more precious than the blood of our people

Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau, said, commenting on the Israeli occupation’s killing of a number of his sons and grandchildren, that this will only increase their steadfastness and adherence to the land, stressing that the blood of his sons is not more precious than the blood of the Palestinian people.

Three sons of the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and a number of his grandchildren were martyred on Wednesday in an Israeli raid that targeted a car transporting them in the Beach camp, west of Gaza City.

Eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli air strike targeted a car carrying members of the Haniyeh family in the Beach camp, who were going around to congratulate the camp residents and their relatives on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

Witnesses stated that the raid completely destroyed the car, leading to the death and injury of everyone in it.

Meanwhile, medical sources said that the bombing resulted in the death of 3 of Haniyeh’s sons, namely: Hazem, Amir, and Muhammad, and a number of their sons, in addition to wounding others.

Haniyeh said in his first comment on the attack: “I thank God for this honor with which he bestowed upon us by the martyrdom of my three sons and some grandchildren,With this pain and blood, we create hopes, a future, and freedom for our people, our cause, and our nation.”

He stressed that: "We will not yield to the blackmail practiced by the occupation, and we will not compromise or neglect, no matter how great our sacrifices are."

He continued: "The blood of my sons is not more precious than the blood of our martyred people in Gaza."

He said: "All our people and all the families of the residents of Gaza paid a heavy price with the blood of their children, and I am one of them. Nearly 60 members of my family rose as martyrs like all the Palestinian people, and there is no difference between them."

He explained, "The occupation believes that by targeting the sons of leaders, it will break the resolve of our people. We tell them that this blood will only make us more steadfast in our principles and adherence to our land."

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, leaving tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

The leader of the Afghan Taliban issues a statement in 7 languages after an audio recording and flogging and stoning of women and men

On Saturday, in a statement, the leader of the Afghan Taliban movement, Hibatullah Akhundzada, called on officials in the movement to put aside their differences and devote themselves to serving their country, as Eid al-Fitr approaches.

It seems that public opposition within the Taliban is unlikely, but some leaders in the movement have shown dissatisfaction with decisions taken by the leadership, especially the ban on female education.

Akhundzada, a reclusive leader who rarely leaves the Taliban stronghold in Kandahar province in the south of the country, and never appears in public, has played a major role in imposing restrictions on women and girls, sparking international outrage and isolating the Taliban on the global stage.

Akhundzada's message was distributed in seven languages, including Uzbek and Turkmen, and is an attempt by the Taliban to court the rich Central Asian countries for investment, and to give legitimacy to the country's rule.
