Biologist Roman Oparin, associate professor at the Department of General Biology and Bioecology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the Russian University of Education, revealed the benefits of black pepper.
He says: “Black pepper is the fruit of the black pepper plant Piper nigrum, which is a climbing plant, native to India, and has been used for a long time as a spice and medicine. At present, it is considered one of the most widely used spices around the world.”
According to him, black pepper is an important source of beneficial substances, such as vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese and iron. It also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Using it in food helps improve digestion and can help lower blood sugar levels. But in all cases, it should be used in moderate doses.

He says: “It is recommended to add black pepper to food in an amount not exceeding 0.58 grams (a quarter of a teaspoon) per day, because excessive amounts can lead to stomach problems, especially irritation of the stomach epithelium. For people who suffer from severe stomach problems, ulcers, or Pancreatitis or allergy to black pepper, it is best not to add it to food at all, and pregnant women should consult a doctor before increasing their consumption of black pepper to avoid possible negative effects.
