The Edness newspaper reported, citing the authorities of the city of Liberec, northwest of the Czech Republic, that more than 10 people, including children, were injured due to a lightning bolt.

According to the newspaper, the incident occurred on Sunday in one of the city's parks, where lightning struck a tree, adding that "between 10 and 15 people were injured. The report stated that some of them lost consciousness and doctors had to revive them."

According to hospital spokesman Vaclav Razchar, five children and eight adults received medical assistance, and the police reported that the number of injured reached 15 people.

Last Tuesday, 3 children on the island of Puerto Rico suffered a tragic accident after they were struck by a lightning bolt on the beach in the city of Isabela. They were taken to a hospital to receive treatment.

Reports indicate that the number of deaths annually as a result of lightning strikes is estimated at about 250,000 people, and the majority of these deaths are the result of accidents that occur in open spaces.
