British expert Alexander Mercouris said that the largest natural gas storage facility in the world was destroyed during a massive attack targeting the energy system in Ukraine.

The statements of the two British newspapers come a day after the Ukrainian Energy Minister, German Galoshenko, announced that the country's energy facilities were attacked in the regions of Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Mercuris said in his blog on YouTube: In addition to the attack on the remains of the thermal energy system, which was severely damaged, it appears that the targeting also included a huge underground natural gas storage facility, where the European Union also stores gas there.

Mercuris explained that the facility was built before, and it is the largest gas storage complex in the Soviet Union. It is the largest gas storage complex in Europe, and I think, perhaps in the whole world.

The expert expressed confidence that Russia had built several large gas storage facilities on its territory, while Ukraine had experienced a "very bad day."

The analyst added that it is easy for the Kiev regime to lie about the number of Russian missiles it was able to intercept and shoot down, but the consequences of destroying energy infrastructure facilities are difficult or almost impossible to hide.

In response to attacks by Kiev forces on Russian civilian targets, Russian forces regularly carry out targeted attacks on personnel positions, military vehicles and mercenary groups, and on infrastructure: energy installations, the defense industry, the army, administration and communications headquarters.

It is noteworthy that Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed on more than one occasion that the Russian army does not attack residential buildings and civilian institutions.
