Bank Mega Syariah and BRI-MI expand sharia investment services

Jakarta - Bank Mega Syariah has collaborated with PT BRI Investment Management in the distribution of sharia mutual fund products to expand sharia investment services.

Through this collaboration, Bank Mega Syariah will distribute four leading products, namely BRI Seruni Syariah Money Market Mutual Funds, BRI Syariah Balanced Mutual Funds, BRI Syariah Index Mutual Funds, and BRI Syariah Equity Mutual Funds.

"These four products are designed to provide more choices for customers in diversifying their investment portfolios, both in money market instruments, indices, and sharia stocks, which are managed in accordance with sharia principles," said Mega Syariah Business Director Rasmoro Pramono Aji in Jakarta, Friday.

One of the leading products, BRI Seruni Syariah Money Market, recorded excellent performance with a growth of 5.43 percent year to date in 2024, higher than the average 3-month state-owned Islamic bank deposit which only reached 1.96 percent.

Meanwhile, BRI-MI Marketing Director Upik Susiyawati said that the collaboration was a strategic step to expand access to sharia investment for the community.

"Collaboration with Bank Mega Syariah allows us to reach more customers who need sharia-based investment products with professional management and competitive returns. We hope this collaboration can encourage sharia financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia," said Upik.

The performance of sharia mutual fund products marketed by Bank Mega Syariah until the end of 2024 showed positive results, including fixed income sharia mutual funds with a one-year return of 4.35 percent and offshore stock sharia mutual funds which had a one-year return of 20.38 percent.

In 2025, Bank Mega Syariah targets growth in managed sharia mutual funds of 25 percent.

As part of the business development strategy, sharia mutual funds are one of the wealth management products that have the potential to drive the growth of Bank Mega Syariah's fee-based income (FBI).

The potential of the sharia mutual fund market in Indonesia is still wide, coupled with BRI-MI's reputation as one of the leading Investment Managers owned by a BUMN, provides confidence that this collaboration can attract more customers.
