Financing 3 sectors, PT SMI contributes Rp1,696.5 trillion to the economy


 

     

Jakarta - PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur or PT SMI reported that it has contributed Rp1,696.5 trillion to the national economy thanks to financing for three sectors, namely roads and toll roads, electricity, and transportation.

"In its support for domestic projects, PT SMI has recorded a number of achievements in financing in various sectors. Of the three largest sectors financed, PT SMI has had an impact on economic output of Rp1,696.5 trillion," said PT SMI President Director Reynaldi Hermansjah in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday.

Reynaldi explained that PT SMI's financing in the road sector resulted in 4,511 kilometers of toll roads.

Meanwhile, financing in the electricity sector has helped increase electricity production by 7.7 gigawatts, which is capable of lighting up 5.9 million households.

In the transportation sector, the results of PT SMI's financing are more diverse depending on the mode financed. For example, PT SMI helped finance the construction of 646 train cars and 242.1 kilometers of built tracks. This is said to increase the number of passengers by 109.6 million people per year.

Since its establishment on February 26, 2009, PT SMI, which is a special mission vehicle (SMV) under the Ministry of Finance, has grown rapidly.

PT SMI initially distributed the first financing in the irrigation sector worth Rp248 billion. Now, the Company has recorded an active financing commitment until December 2024 reaching Rp148.9 trillion and an outstanding of Rp96.3 trillion.

The total project value of PT SMI financing reached Rp1,153 trillion. From the total project financing, PT SMI has generated a multiplier effect of 7.75 times on the total commitment and 37.79 times on the paid-up capital.

PT SMI has also distributed regional loans since 2016. As of December 2024, PT SMI has distributed regional loans worth IDR 36.66 trillion in the form of commitments and outstanding of IDR 21.19 trillion.
