Sidoarjo - Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Bambang Haryo Soekartono inspected the tofu and tempeh manufacturing industry in Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java.
In the review, he pushed for the area to become a center or special economic zone.
"We are also monitoring to ensure that the price of soybeans as the main raw material for making tempeh and tofu in that location remains affordable for producers," he said on the sidelines of a review of the tofu and tempeh manufacturing industry in Taman District, Sidoarjo, Friday.
He said that the tofu and tempeh industry in Taman District is very dominant and is capable of producing thousands of products every day.
The area, according to him, deserves to be a special economy that should have their income tax suppressed by the relevant parties as a form of contribution to the people's economy. "Here can be a center for tofu and tempeh industry because there are so many business actors.
