Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said that the use of appropriate artificial intelligence (AI) technology in Indonesia's mining sector is considered to have the potential to make Indonesia a global player .
In a forum entitled "Indonesia AI Day for Mining Industry" in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, Nezar said that mining industry players should not be left behind in the wave of AI utilization because in the last four years the use of AI for work automation in the industry has continued to increase.
"The use of AI technology by mining industry players can strengthen Indonesia's position as a global player with effective, efficient and sustainable mining practices," said Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria.
Nezar gave examples of several automations that AI can perform in the mining industry, including optimizing the supply chain to accelerating the exploration cycle with environmental analysis.
