Her call came via a video clip posted on her Instagram account on Wednesday, days after she sharply criticized the company during an official event in the United States for its involvement in supporting Israel. This led to her subsequent dismissal from her job in the company's artificial intelligence department.
Abu Al-Saad said she chose to post the video after receiving numerous messages from people in solidarity seeking to support her. She added, "All Microsoft products must be boycotted until it adopts a humanitarian stance and ceases its financial support for Israel."
She also called for exposing all companies that provide such support, emphasizing the need for employees at such companies to speak out, even if it costs them their jobs. She said, "Everyone working for a company that violates humanitarian principles must speak out, leave, and speak out publicly about it."
CNBC reported on Monday that Microsoft fired Abu Al-Saad after he interrupted a speech by its chief artificial intelligence officer, Mustafa Suleyman, during the company's 50th anniversary celebration. Suleyman said that the company's management was complicit in the genocide in Gaza and that "the company's hands are stained with Palestinian blood."
It's worth noting that the Associated Press conducted an investigation in early 2025 revealing the use of artificial intelligence models from Microsoft and OpenAI in an Israeli military program to select bombing targets in both Gaza and Lebanon.
