Hajj candidates with comorbidities are reminded to bring medication.

Head of the Health Ministry's Hajj Center Liliek Marhaendro Susilo reminded prospective hajj pilgrims with comorbidities who will be departing for the Holy Land to bring medicines prescribed by their doctors.

When contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta on Monday, Liliek conveyed the importance of prospective hajj pilgrims with comorbidities such as diabetes and heart disease to prepare their routine medicines in their bags before leaving.

"For pilgrims who have a history of illness, it is recommended to always keep their health under control. If there is a drug prescribed by a doctor to be taken regularly, then efforts are made to ensure that the drug is consumed regularly according to the prescription," he said.

"Those who regularly take medication prescribed by a doctor should continue to take it so that their illness remains under control," he added.

In addition to bringing medicines that must be taken regularly, he said, prospective pilgrims also need to prepare oralit and water that can be consumed to help replace body fluids lost during outdoor activities.

He also reminded prospective hajj pilgrims who were going to the Holy Land to adopt a healthy lifestyle, including consuming a balanced nutritious diet and doing light physical activity for at least 30 minutes every day.
