Jamie Vardy to leave Leicester City at end of season.

Leicester City captain Jamie Vardy will leave the club at the end of the season, the club announced on its official website.

"We can confirm that legendary striker Jamie Vardy will leave Leicester City this summer after 13 years in which he has been one of our greatest players of all time," a statement on Leicester's official website read.

"To the Leicester fans, I am so sad that this day has come, but I knew it would happen. I have spent 13 unbelievable years at this club, with so much success, and some disappointments, but mostly joy," Vardy said.

“Leicester will always have a place in my heart,” he continued.

The 38-year-old striker was signed from non-league Fleetwood Town in 2012. He went on to become Leicester's all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 143 goals. In total, Vardy has scored 198 goals in 498 appearances for Leicester in all competitions.
