MPR: Vocational school students must be qualified for the job market

Jakarta - Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI Lestari Moerdijat said that vocational school graduates must be qualified to be accepted in the job market.

"Various steps must be taken immediately with the support of related parties to ensure that students in vocational schools can meet the demands of the job market," Lestari said in an official press release received by Antara, Saturday.

Lestari said that improving the quality of vocational school graduates can be done through various efforts, one of which is improving the quality of teachers and school facilities.

According to him, schools and all elements of teachers must be able to see the needs of companies in the job market. Thus, teachers can adjust the knowledge needs required by students to meet the needs of the company.

This can be realized through collaboration between schools and the government to ensure that students can be channeled into the right job market.

Last week, he said, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education collaborated with the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers/Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency to improve the competence of educators and graduates of Vocational High Schools .
