Paris Saint-Germain officially crowned French champions for the 13th time in their history

Paris Saint-Germain was officially crowned Ligue 1 champions after defeating Angers 1-0 in the 28th round of the competition on Saturday.

The Parisian team entered the match needing just one point to clinch the title, and faced little difficulty in front of its fans at the Parc des Princes.

Desiree Doué scored the only goal of the match for Paris Saint-Germain in the 55th minute, confirming his team's title win for the fourth consecutive season, with six rounds remaining in the competition this season.

Paris Saint-Germain raised its score to 74 points at the top of the table with an unbeaten record, followed by Monaco in second place with 50 points before facing Brest later today, Saturday, while Angers' score remained at 27 points in fourteenth place.

The Parisian team moved away from the top of the list of most successful teams in the French league with 13 titles, followed by Saint-Étienne with 10 titles.

Paris Saint-Germain thus claimed its second title of the season, following its victory in the French Super Cup last January with a 1-0 victory over Monaco in a match held in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The French team also won its fifth title under Spanish coach Luis Enrique, who took over in the summer of 2023 after winning the domestic treble of the league, the French Cup, and the Super Cup last season. He recently renewed his contract until the summer of 2027.
