The Houthis announced that they had targeted the vicinity of Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv with a ballistic missile.

Airport, in the occupied Jaffa area (Tel Aviv), with a ballistic missile."

The Yemeni group explained in a statement that the missile used in this operation was a "Zulfiqar" missile.

The Houthis repeatedly announce that they have carried out ballistic missile operations against military sites and bases inside Israel, in support of the Palestinian people and the Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Friday, the Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported that Tel Aviv had detected a missile being launched from Yemen, without further details.

Israel usually does not officially comment on Houthi statements.

The Israeli genocide, with US support, against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has resulted in more than 167,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing persons.

On another note, the Houthis said in the same statement that they "carried out a double military operation against the American aircraft carriers Truman and Vinson and their warships in the Red and Arabian Seas."

The source indicated that the targeting of the US aircraft carrier Vinson was "the first since its arrival in the Arabian Sea a few days ago."

It also revealed that "an American MQ-9 drone was shot down while carrying out hostile operations in the airspace of Sana'a Governorate," it said.

The group reiterated its assertion that it "will continue, for the second consecutive month, to actively and responsibly confront the US aggression, and to meet escalation with escalation."

She noted that "the US military buildup and continued aggression will only lead to more attacks, targeting, clashes, and confrontations."

74 killed in Hodeidah

Earlier on Friday, the Public Health Office in Yemen's western Hodeidah Governorate announced that the death toll from four US airstrikes on Ras Issa port had risen to 74 dead and 171 wounded, with the toll expected to rise.

Al Masirah TV published photos and video clips showing the charred bodies of port workers and employees, as well as medical personnel treating those injured and burned by the US airstrikes, in addition to testimonies from the wounded.

For its part, Washington said on Thursday that it had destroyed a fuel platform at the Houthi-controlled port of Ras Isa.

These raids come after US President Donald Trump ordered his country's military to launch a "major offensive" against the Houthi group, before threatening to "completely eliminate" them.
