Tourism students encouraged to learn to create digital content.

The Assistant Deputy for Increasing the Capacity of Human Resources for Civil Servants and Vocational Education at the Ministry of Tourism, Andar Danova L. Goeltom, encouraged tourism polytechnic students to learn how to create digital content.

While delivering a virtual speech at a training event held in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Thursday, he said that digital content could be an effective tool to promote tourism, culinary and local products.

"This strategy not only increases the visibility of local products, but also strengthens an inclusive and sustainable digital economic ecosystem," he said.

Therefore, he said, training programs such as Creators Lab held by Tokopedia and TikTok Shop need to be implemented to increase the capacity of creators in creating digital content for promotional purposes.

"Activities like this reflect our commitment to forming human resources who are creative and adaptive to changing times," he said.

According to him, universities can hold digital content creation training independently or collaborate with the private sector to improve students' skills in creating digital content.

He said that universities together with private partners could collaborate to provide learning and creative spaces for tourism students.
