Manama is Al-Sharaa's sixth Arab destination and eighth international destination since he assumed office.
Since assuming office last January, Al-Sharaa has visited Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and France.
On December 8, 2024, Syrian factions took control of the capital, Damascus, and other cities, ending 61 years of Baath Party rule and 53 years of Assad family control.
