The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) plays an active role in eradicating online gambling practices by simplifying internet connection paths and filtering systems for illegal content.
APJII Chairman Muhammad Arif Angga said that his party took a policy to rearrange the internet connection path to make it easier to monitor. APJII requires Internet Service Providers ( ISPs ) to connect their networks to Network Access Points (NAP).
"So ISPs are not allowed to connect directly to foreign countries, they must go via a specific NAP so that traffic can be monitored more easily , " he said in a discussion with the media in Jakarta, Thursday.
Then, this NAP is connected to the Indonesia Internet Exchange (IIX) as an infrastructure that allows the exchange of data traffic between internet service providers (ISPs). In IIX, APJII embeds a content filtering system that functions to block illegal content.
