Borneo end season with 2-1 win at Persik headquarters

Borneo FC ended the 2024/25 Indonesian League 1 season by winning 2-1 at Persik Kediri's headquarters at Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri City, East Java.

Stefano Lilipaly and Matheus Pato scored Borneo's winning goals, while the hosts could only reply through Ramiro Fergonzi's penalty.

This result ensures the position of both teams in the final standings, although several clubs will still play the final match of the season on Saturday (24/5) tomorrow. Borneo is in fifth place with 56 points, while Persik (41) is in 12th place.

Despite trying to launch attacks from the kick-off whistle, Persik had to see their goal broken through by the visiting team in the 19th minute when Lilipaly utilized Mariano Peralta's pass to bring Borneo to a 1-0 lead.

The team coached by Divaldo Alves tried to come back from behind and threatened through Riyatno Abiyo's header in the 35th minute, unfortunately the ball was easily blocked by goalkeeper Daffa Fasya.

Borneo managed to score their second goal in the third minute of injury time through Pato's tap-in to double their 2-0 lead over Persik at half-time.
