Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said he will not leave his team feeling "frustrated" even though he failed to lead El Real to retain the Champions League and Spanish League titles this season.
Madrid were knocked out by Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals and are in danger of failing to retain their La Liga title after trailing Barcelona by seven points in the title race with three games remaining.
"I'm not leaving frustrated because if they had told me the day I arrived that I would win 11 titles in four years, I would have signed it in blood," Ancelotti was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Wednesday.
This season, Ancelotti has only managed to give Madrid one trophy, namely the European Super Cup, after they beat Atalanta 2-0 at the Warsaw National Stadium in August last year.
It was Madrid's "best performance" of the season before they stumbled in three different competitions. In addition to being knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal and facing failure to retain the La Liga trophy, they also lost in other domestic competitions.
