Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Indonesian Business Council Arsjad Rasjid hopes that cooperation between the Indonesian and Chinese governments can create a transfer of knowledge and technology.
According to him, the presence of investors from China should not only bring capital, but also help build the capacity of Indonesia's human resources.
"So what is desired from Chinese investors is not just money. Money is one thing, but what is more important is the transfer of knowledge, technology," said Arsjad at the Presidential Palace Complex.
Arsjad views that the cooperation is not solely oriented towards investment or financial aspects, but also needs to strengthen people -to-people relations between the two countries.
With technology transfer and skills improvement, this collaboration is expected to have a broader impact on national development.
"In the future, don't just look at the money side. But we can transfer knowledge and technology, that's important for us," he said.
He also emphasized that the push for knowledge transfer is not limited to China, but also to all partner countries that cooperate with Indonesia.
This is considered important so that Indonesia is not just an investment destination, but also becomes part of the process of increasing capabilities in the fields of technology and knowledge.
"We have to demand it, because if not, there will never be a transfer of knowledge from them to us. So what we want is while building a transfer of knowledge, technology and all of that is done," he concluded.
