DPR Supervisory Team Asks Ministry of Religion to Work Hard to Resolve Hajj Pilgrims' Problems

The 2025 Hajj Supervisory Team of the Indonesian House of Representatives has asked the Ministry of Religion to really work extra hard to serve Indonesian hajj pilgrims, because so far the DPR RI has still heard complaints.

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal, said that one of the complaints heard was about married pilgrims whose accommodation was separate, even though they were leaving in the same group.

"Make sure there are no more stories of congregations where one group can be divided into 5 houses, 6 houses. And this is indeed unavoidable because they (the Ministry of Religion) are the ones who make the contract," said Cucun at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Tuesday.

If this problem is not resolved immediately by the government, according to him, there will be chaos during the peak of the Hajj.

For that reason, he said, the Supervisory Team will coordinate to handle the accommodation problem to avoid the congregation being scattered.

"Can it be handled when the hajj peak comes? If it cannot be handled, it must be resolved. There is still a week to organize all of this," he said.

He said that the Indonesian House of Representatives Hajj Supervisory Team has started departing for Saudi Arabia starting.
