Florian Wirtz edging closer to Liverpool move

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Florian Wirtz is currently getting closer to joining Liverpool after the Reds were reported to have submitted an offer worth 130 million Euros (around Rp2.4 trillion) to Bayer Leverkusen.

Romano said the negotiations between the two clubs were very positive. Wirtz, who only wants Liverpool, believes this transfer saga will not last long.

"Talks are continuing as previously reported with the club optimistic as Liverpool's proposal of around €130m is now on the table," Romano wrote on his official X account on Friday.

"Negotiations are ongoing regarding additional structure, key to getting a deal done. Wirtz ONLY wants Liverpool," he added.

Quoted from another source, The Athletic, they reported on May 23 that Liverpool had opened talks with Leverkusen regarding the potential signing of Wirtz. Communication between the two clubs had begun with Jeremie Frimpong who was then being prepared to move to Anfield.

Wirtz was also targeted by Bayern Munich, but the Bundesliga champions decided to back down after being told that Wirtz only wanted to move to Liverpool. The German has also reportedly visited the north-west of England to look for a house to live in.
