Google agrees to pay $1.3 billion over privacy issues.

Technology company Google has agreed to pay the US state of Texas 1.375 billion US dollars to settle two lawsuits accusing the company of tracking users' personal location, incognito searches and voice and facial data without permission.

The lawsuit was filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in 2022. Facebook's parent company Meta agreed to pay the same amount to settle Paxton's facial recognition lawsuit last year.

“In Texas, Big Tech is not above the law,” Paxton said, as reported by Techcrunch.
