Huayou Cobalt in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact and 19 other partner organizations officially launched the "China-Indonesia Corporate Community Action Network for Sustainable Development" to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic bilateral partnerships.
The partnership was agreed at the "First Global Business Summit on 'Belt and Road' Infrastructure Investment for a Better Business, World and Sustainable Development Goals" hosted by the Government of Indonesia and the UN Global Compact in Jakarta.
"In line with the spirit of the 'Belt and Road Initiative', Huayou adheres to the principle that wherever we invest, we must contribute to the local economy and society," said Senior Vice President of Huayou Cobalt and President of Huayou Indonesia Nickel Industry Group Gao Baojun in his statement.
He said that through strategic collaboration with stakeholders and harmonization of community needs with business project design, the company will develop inclusive and sustainable empowerment programs.
