"In victory for the oppressed Palestinians," the Houthis attack Ben Gurion Airport with a hypersonic missile.

This came in a televised statement by Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree, posted on Telegram. The announcement came after the Israeli military announced earlier Wednesday that it had intercepted a missile "launched from Yemen," following the sounding of air raid sirens across large areas of the country, including the greater Tel Aviv area.

"The missile force of the armed forces (of the Houthis) carried out a military operation targeting Lod Airport, known in Israel as Ben Gurion Airport in the occupied Jaffa region (Tel Aviv), with a hypersonic ballistic missile, and successfully achieved its goal," Saree said.

He added that the missile "caused millions of occupying Zionists to flee to shelters and halted airport operations for nearly an hour." He stated that the operation was "a victory for the oppressed Palestinian people, a rejection of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, and a confirmation of the continued ban on air traffic at the aforementioned airport."

The Houthis say they are launching missiles at Israel "in support of the Palestinians in Gaza," and they will continue to do so as long as Tel Aviv continues its war of extermination in the Strip.

With full American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 172,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
