Technology company, OpenAI, is known to have bought an AI hardware company called io which was founded by former Apple Design Chief Jonny Ive and several former Apple engineers such as Scott Cannon, Evans Hankey, and Tang Tan.
Jonny Ive will not be joining OpenAI, and his design firm, LoveFrom, will remain independent. However, they were tasked with designing everything at OpenAI including its software in a deal worth nearly $6.5 billion.
Quoted from The Verge, Thursday, around 55 hardware engineers, software developers, and manufacturing experts from io will join OpenAI as part of the acquisition.
