Spotify said that the new external payment feature implemented in the application on iOS has helped increase the number of Premium subscribers to its service.
According to a TechCrunch release on Wednesday (21/5), the statement was delivered in a legal document filed to support Epic Games in its lawsuit against Apple regarding payment rules on the App Store.
Spotify claims in the document that its internal data shows that the recent update supporting web payments has resulted in a “significant increase in the number of iOS users upgrading to Premium subscriptions.”
