French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, at around 22.00 WIB after taking off from Hanoi, Vietnam.
At the apron of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Foreign Minister Sugiono welcomed President Macron and French First Lady Brigitte Macron right at the end of the plane's stairs.
President Macron held Brigitte's hand as they both descended the stairs. Right at the end of the plane's stairs, Defense Minister Sjafrie saluted, and the two shook hands. President Macron had a brief chat with Defense Minister Sjafrie, before Sjafrie introduced President Macron to Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno.Foreign Minister Sugiono also had a brief chat with President Macron.
In the welcoming procession, President Macron walked along the blue carpet that was spread on the apron of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base to his vehicle. The traditional Betawi Nanjak Ajer dance attraction and the traditional Betawi Gambang Kromong music also enlivened the welcoming event for President Macron at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.
