Sabar/Reza fail to follow Fajar/Rian's footsteps at Thailand Open.

The men's doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Muhammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani failed to follow in the footsteps of Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto who advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 Thailand Open.

Sabar/Reza were stopped in the quarter-finals of the BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament after losing 18-21, 13-21 to the home pair Kedren Kittinupong/Dechapol Puavaranukroh at the Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok, Friday.

The match took place at a fast tempo with the typical men's doubles attack. Sabar/Reza were behind 7-11 in the first game interval and failed to turn things around despite trying to close the gap.

Entering the second game, the points tally was tight until Sabar/Reza led 11-10. However, after the interval, the Indonesian pair began to lose focus and made many of their own mistakes which their opponents took advantage of to close out the second game.

The pair's defeat made Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto the only Red and White representatives to reach the final four of the tournament.
