The occupation kills a woman every hour in Gaza, and Hamas warns of a catastrophic intensification of famine.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said, "33 martyrs were admitted to hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including 29 new martyrs, four recovered martyrs, and 94 injured in the past 24 hours." It reported that "the death toll and injuries since March 18, 2025, has reached 2,749 martyrs and 7,607 injured."

For its part, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said on Monday that Israel killed a Palestinian woman every hour in the Gaza Strip, including 7,920 mothers, between October 7, 2023, and May 11, 2025.

The Geneva-based human rights monitor said in a statement: "Israel has killed at least 12,400 Palestinian women in Gaza, including 7,920 mothers." It explained that this data indicates that Israel kills an average of approximately 21.3 women in Gaza daily, noting that this amounts to approximately "one woman every 67 minutes."

On May 8, the Government Media Office in Gaza reported in its latest statistics that the Israeli occupation army had killed more than 12,400 women in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

For its part, Hamas warned on Monday of a "catastrophic" worsening of the famine in the Gaza Strip as Israel continues its blockade by closing the crossings and preventing the entry of food and medicine. It also called for the entry of aid "under UN supervision."

The movement said in a statement that "the occupation's continued blockade of aid entry confirms its deliberate intent to create famine and a worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip." It emphasized that "the famine in Gaza is catastrophically intensifying amid the ongoing blockade and the prevention of food and medicine entry."

It called for the immediate opening of the crossings to allow the flow of aid "under UN supervision and without interference from the Israeli authorities." It also emphasized that "the only entities authorized to manage and distribute aid are the relevant UN and governmental institutions, not the occupation or its agents."

In early March, the first phase of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel, which went into effect on January 19, concluded.

While Hamas has adhered to the terms of the first phase, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, has reneged on the start of the second phase in deference to extremists in his ruling coalition, according to Hebrew media.

Since March 18, Israel has resumed its genocidal crimes by launching violent, large-scale airstrikes, most of which targeted civilians, including homes and tents housing displaced persons.

Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen said on Monday that the planto displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip "is still on the table and is being monitored."

Cohen added in an interview with the Israeli Broadcasting Authority: "The voluntary emigration plan for Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, proposed by US President Donald Trump, is still on the table and is being monitored."

He noted that "efforts to implement the plan are ongoing on the ground," without providing further details. However, he indicated that "advanced talks are underway with two countries on this issue," without naming them.

"One of these two states is Islamic," Cohen said, without naming it. He noted that he "doesn't see a serious reconstruction process on the horizon in the coming years."

He claimed that "promoting the voluntary migration option has become a realistic necessity imposed by the current situation in the Gaza Strip."

The Israeli government is pushing for the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, but is finding it difficult to find countries willing to accept their displacement.

Since the beginning of the genocide, the occupation army has destroyed the majority of buildings, facilities, and infrastructure in Gaza, according to UN and international organizations.

Since last January, Trump has been promoting a plan to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan. Both countries have rejected the plan, and other Arab countries and regional and international organizations have joined them.

Last March, the Israeli security cabinet approved the establishment of an administration to displace residents of the Gaza Strip, in accordance with a proposal by US President Donald Trump.

With full American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 172,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
