Two young Indonesian players leave for Girona FC to gain knowledge

Two young Indonesian players, Reno Salampessy and Farrel Luckyta Widodo, got the opportunity to fly to Girona FC, one of the Spanish League clubs to gain knowledge there.

The Footballicious CEO Andhika Suksmana is grateful that LALIGA provides an opportunity for early age football development. He hopes that this experience can be an inspiration for other young footballers.

"Thank you LALIGA for the opportunity given, especially to Reno. This football experience not only opens the door for Reno to develop on the field but is also expected to be an inspiration for his peers. This is real proof that young players in Indonesia have great potential in the world of global football," said Andhika in his official statement, Monday.

Reno, who is also the son of Persipura legend Ricardo Salampessy, flew to Spain last week. This is part of The Footballicious and LALIGA's commitment to supporting young Indonesian players to get the opportunity to train at international standards.

Reno was chosen to join this program because The Footballicious considered him a talented young player in playing the round ball since 2018. The Footballicious was already amazed by Reno's talent on the field when Reno was showing off in front of world football legend, David Beckham in a coaching clinic event held by an insurance company.

Reno himself this season has scored four goals with 10 appearances with Persipura Jayapura in the Indonesian League 2. Also attending this program was Farrel Luckyta Widodo, a PSS U-16 player who became the best player in the 2024 LALIGA Youth Tournament.
