Algeria: Earthquake hits Chlef province

The Algerian Research Center for Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics recorded an earthquake measuring 3 on the Richter scale in Chlef province at dawn on Friday.

The center said in a statement on its Facebook page: “The Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics recorded an earthquake on June 6 at 03:27 with a magnitude of 3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 15 km north of Beni Eve of Chlef State.

From time to time, northern Algeria, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, experiences earthquakes, most of which are minor to moderate and usually do not cause material or human losses.
