"All eyes on Gaza." The Italian city of Milan affirms its solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

The event, held in the city center, was attended by hundreds of people, including artists and activists, who raised Palestinian flags and lit candles in solidarity with the people of Gaza, who are suffering under a suffocating siege and systematic starvation amid an ongoing military escalation by Israel.

"Everyone is gradually waking up and realizing that what is happening is not just a political issue, but a purely humanitarian one," Italian citizen Annalisa, a participant in the event, told Anadolu Agency, noting that the time has come to speak out in support of the Palestinians.

She added: "Even groups that have long been silent are now taking action, and that's better than nothing, but we should have woken up before the lives of some 20,000 children were lost, before 60,000 civilians were killed, before the situation reached famine and people looking for a bag of rice were shot."

This initiative comes at a time of mounting European and international calls to halt the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, which has left approximately 180,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, famine has been caused, and infrastructure has been destroyed. Israel is facing mounting accusations of crimes against humanity.
