The heat of events in California has thawed the ice in the dispute between US President Donald Trump and businessman Elon Musk, with Musk beginning to express support for Trump's positions after days of public debate between them.
Musk expressed his solidarity with Trump for the first time in days, supporting the president's call for California Governor Gavin Newsom to apologize.
Trump posted on his Twitter account a post demanding that the governor of California and the mayor of Los Angeles apologize to the people for their failures in handling the ongoing protests against the US government's policies toward immigrants.
Musk responded by posting a screenshot of Trump's post without comment, and also retweeted another message from the president announcing the task of restoring order to Los Angeles, accompanied by two American flags.
This rapprochement comes a week after a public dispute between the two men over a bill proposed by Trump to cut federal spending, which Musk described as a "disgusting measure" and called for the project to be "killed." Trump responded at the time that he was disappointed in Musk, noting that he had previously supported him.
For his part, Musk stated that Trump was instrumental in his rise to the presidency, and that Republicans gained a majority in Congress due to his support.
