Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto invited young people to become leaders with integrity in Indonesia, because integrity and values in leadership are important, not just pursuing positions at a young age.
"Integrity and values in leadership are important, not just pursuing a position at a young age," he said when opening the 2025 Indonesia Youth Summit (IYS) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Friday.
Bima Arya also mentioned the figure of French President Emmanuel Macron who was elected at a young age, but was able to bring a progressive vision.
He emphasized that being a young leader is important, but not enough without maturity and strong values.
"We can, we must, we must aspire to become leaders at a young age. But that's not everything," he said.
