FFI asks PSSI to announce punishment for perpetrators of violence in Linus

Chairman of the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI), Michael Sianipar, said that his party asked PSSI to immediately announce the punishment for the perpetrators of violence that occurred at the Nusantara Futsal League (Linus) match.

On Sunday (15/6) there was an act of violence in the Nusantara Futsal League match between Pusaka FC and Sinjay FC at GOR Ciateul, West Java. In the match that ended with a 1-1 draw, several Sinjay FC players were seen committing very hard violations against Pusaka FC players.

"Regarding this incident, I have also followed up. with the internal team. We also asked, it has been brought to the referee committee at the PSSI level too. Because the referee arrangement is still under the coordination of the referee committee," said Michael when met in Jakarta, Wednesday.

"And there have been actual meeting results. As far as I know, there were meeting results last night. We have asked that the decisions be conveyed openly and there can also be an official statement," he continued.

FFI, according to Michael, is still in a position to ensure the decision is made, especially for referee matters. Meanwhile, for players who commit violence, the Disciplinary Committee will still review it.

"So our position is also to ensure that there is such a decision. What I know is that there are sanctions against the five referees who led the match, they will be suspended from leading matches during the Nusantara League," said Michael.

"Then for the clubs and players who are also in the spotlight, there will be a review. from the disciplinary committee. But this is a mechanism that is currently running," he added.

Michael admitted that his party still faces a number of homework assignments related to organizing competitions and matches, especially at levels below the professional league.

"But if we talk more broadly, it is as Coach Hector (Souto, the Indonesian national futsal team coach) also said that this is our homework, our reflection of the challenges of building futsal on a national scale," said Michael.

"So maybe it was one incident in an official competition. But in the last few months there have been several incidents that I think are similar, maybe there were bad actions, inappropriate actions from players or maybe there were decisions (by the referee) that are still questionable."
