FFI focuses on completing the league before the national and international team agendas

The Indonesian Futsal Federation emphasized that the main focus at this time is to complete the Professional Futsal League which is entering the final weeks of the regular season.

FFI General Chairman, Michael Sianipar, stated that the completion of the league is an important foundation before the federation moves on to the national team agenda and international tournaments.

"Now our focus is to finish the League first. This week is the last week of the standings phase before entering the playoff round for the men's top eight. Meanwhile, the Women's League is also underway and is scheduled to finish at the end of July," said Michael when met in Jakarta, Wednesday.

After the league is finished, FFI will reactivate the national team program which is projected to appear in the Four Nation Futsal Series event in September.

Michael revealed that head coach Hector Souto will return to Jakarta in the near future to begin preparations.

"Coach Hector will return this June and we will immediately run the national team program. One of our main agendas is the four-nation tournament that will be held in Indonesia. Several countries such as the Netherlands, Latvia, and Russia have expressed interest in participating," he explained.

However, Michael added that FFI is still waiting for the finalization of the match date and arena before bringing the proposal to PSSI, considering that there is a commitment from PSSI to support the organization of international futsal events.
