The death toll among humanitarian aid convoys has risen to 51, with more than 200 injured, 20 of them critically, as a result of Israel's targeting of aid workers in the Sheikh Nasser neighborhood east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Earlier, local sources in the Gaza Strip reported that the Israeli army bombed a gathering of civilians waiting to receive humanitarian aid in the Sheikh Nasser neighborhood, east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Gaza Health Ministry said in a statement: "A preliminary toll shows 51 people killed and 200 injured, including 20 in critical condition, who arrived at Nasser Medical Complex as a result of the occupation's massacre of citizens waiting for aid at Al-Tahlia Roundabout in Khan Yunis Governorate this morning."

Video footage and photos of many of the dead and injured at the site of the attack were circulated, some of whom were transported away from the site by available means.

The gruesome scenes also showed bodies of dismembered victims arriving at Nasser Medical Complex, and sources reported dozens of deaths as a result of the attack, indicating that the death toll could rise to more than 51.

In a related context regarding the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip , a statement from the Gaza Health Ministry indicated that "emergency, intensive care, and operating rooms are experiencing severe overcrowding with the arrival of a large number of injuries and deaths."

He added, "Medical teams are operating with limited supplies of life-saving medicines and medical supplies, and the Ministry of Health renews its urgent appeal to all relevant authorities to increase emergency medical supplies."

With the ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, numerous incidents similar to today's incident have emerged in recent days involving aid workers. Israeli attacks have repeatedly targeted those waiting to receive essential humanitarian aid, amid the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Strip, both food and medical.
