The Indonesian and South Korean governments discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), especially in the development of digital talent, supporting infrastructure, and governance based on Asian values.
The discussion of this cooperation was held through a bilateral meeting between the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital of the Republic of Indonesia, Nezar Patria, and Prof. Sang-Wook Yi, Head of the Ethics and Security Division of the National Committee for AI Strategy of South Korea in a series of events for the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Bangkok, Thailand, Thursday (26/6).
"Indonesia sees Korea as a key partner in digital transformation. Korea's experience in integrating research, ethics, and implementation of AI in various sectors is very relevant to our national strategy," said Nezar, in a press statement received.
According to Nezar, it is necessary to mainstream Asian values, such as mutual cooperation, respect for elders, and social harmony, so that the AI models developed are more relevant and rooted in local culture.
