The Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) expressed its disappointment over the cancellation of the 2025 World Abilitysport Games (WAG) which were originally scheduled to take place in Jakarta on September 11-21, 2025.
The cancellation was officially announced by the World Abilitysport Federation via email and its official website on June 6, 2025. The letter stated that the reason for the cancellation was the absence of an official guarantee from the government regarding the readiness of the event, including the fact that the committee had not yet been formed, even though there was only less than three months left for preparation.
"We have made various efforts and communications so that this event can still be held in Indonesia, but the final decision is still to cancel it," said Deputy Secretary General of NPC Indonesia Rima Ferdianto in a written statement, Tuesday.
