Iran likely won't halt uranium enrichment, Trump says US offering Tehran nothing

On Friday, Trump denied media reports that his administration had considered helping Iran obtain up to $30 billion to develop a civilian nuclear energy program.

For his part, Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, affirmed that his country's uranium enrichment "will never stop."

In an interview with CBS on Sunday evening, Iravani noted that the use of peaceful nuclear technologies is a right of non-nuclear-weapon states, adding that uranium enrichment is an inalienable right of Iran, emphasizing their desire to continue exercising this right.

It's worth noting that on June 13, Israel, with US support, launched a 12-day attack on Iran, targeting military and nuclear sites and civilian facilities, in addition to assassinating military leaders and nuclear scientists. Iran responded by targeting Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with ballistic missiles and drones.

On June 22, the United States launched attacks on Iranian facilities and announced that it had ended Iran's nuclear program. This prompted Tehran to bomb the US Al-Udeid base in Qatar, before Washington declared a ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Tehran on June 24.

The extent of the damage to Iran's nuclear facilities remains unclear. Its president, Masoud Pezeshkian, simply stated that the Israeli-American aggression had not achieved its objectives, without providing further details.

Israel and the United States claim that the strikes destroyed Iran's nuclear program and delayed it for years, while a leaked report from the US Defense Intelligence Agency indicated that the attacks delayed the program by only a few months.

Israel and the United States accuse Iran of seeking to produce nuclear weapons, while Tehran maintains that its program is for peaceful purposes, including electricity generation.

It should be noted that Israel is the only country in the region that possesses a nuclear arsenal not subject to international oversight, and it has continued to occupy territories in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon for decades.
