Luis Castro becomes new Nantes coach





Nantes have appointed Luis Castro as their new head coach for next season, the French League club announced on its website.

The 45-year-old coach signed a two-year contract with the option of an additional year.

The Portuguese coach left Dunkerque in the second division playoffs and the French Cup semi-finals last season.

Dunkerque, had led 2-0 over PSG in the French Cup semi-finals before losing 2-4.

The coach had been linked with a possible move to Botafogo in Brazil, who are playing in the Club World Cup.

Castro began his coaching career by coaching the youth teams of several professional clubs in the 2000s, such as Vitoria de Guimaraes and Al-Nassr.
