National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo formed a Special Task Force for Optimizing State Revenue which focuses on assisting ministries to increase state revenue in order to support government development.
Member of the State Revenue Optimization Task Force, Yudi Purnomo, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta, Friday, said that over the past 6 months, his party has coordinated with several ministries.
Most recently, the special task force coordinated with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) in terms of increasing the potential for state revenue in the fisheries sector.
"The Special Task Force will directly observe the field situation at the Mayangan Fisheries Port in Probolinggo, East Java, on May 7-9, 2025 and the Fisheries Port in Benoa, Bali, on June 11-13, 2025," said Yudi.
From the visit, problems were found that needed to be resolved to increase non-tax state revenue (PNBP), namely that there were still many fishing vessels under or above 30 GT that caught fish above 12 nautical miles, but did not yet have fishing permits.
As a result, PNBP from the fish caught by the ship cannot be collected.
"Some of these ships have indeed applied for permits, but are still constrained and require a relatively long time," said Yudi.
The Special Task Force also recommended several solutions, one of which was the need to increase the government's capacity to process fishing vessel permits more quickly.
In the near future, said Yudi, the concrete steps that will be taken by the parties to implement.
