Netanyahu thanks Trump for ceasefire with Iran and vows to respond to any violations

Netanyahu affirmed Israel's gratitude to President Trump for his defense support and his participation in eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat, emphasizing that Israel has achieved its goal of eliminating this threat and that it will respond forcefully to any violations of the ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reported on Tuesday that the ceasefire announced by Trump went into effect at 7:30 local time (04:00 GMT). The Fars News Agency, which is close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, reported that the agreement came after Iranian missiles inflicted losses on Israel.

Earlier on Tuesday, the US President announced the entry into force of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, hours after confirming that a full agreement had been reached on a comprehensive ceasefire that would take effect within six hours of the announcement and initially last for 12 hours before the war is officially declared over.

This announcement comes hours after an Iranian missile attack targeting the U.S. Al-Udeid base in Qatar, dubbed "Operation Bashaer Al-Fatah." It was preceded by U.S. airstrikes on strategic facilities in Iran early Sunday morning, complementing Washington's ongoing military, intelligence, and logistical support for Israel.

The region has been witnessing a mutual military escalation since June 13, with Israel targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, and nuclear leaders and scientists in Iran. Tehran responded by targeting Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in deaths and injuries on both sides.
